Uzbekistan aims to double fertilizer exports to EU to $500 mln/year

TASHKENT. Sept 21 (Interfax) - Uzbekistan plans to more than double mineral fertilizer exports to the European Union to $500 million per year.

"In future the objective is to gradually bring exports of Uzbek mineral fertilizers to European Union countries to $500 million [annually]," the Central Asian country's Investment, Industry and Trade Ministry said in a press release.

Leading Uzbek chemical companies presented their products at the Made in Uzbekistan stand at the SPACE 2026 international exhibition in Rennes, France on September 15-17, the ministry said.

"In the course of the exhibition, negotiations were held with European importers and distributors on expanding supplies of Uzbek mineral fertilizers to the EU market. The practical result was the signing of an agreement between Uzkimyoimpeks LLC and Eudaira that calls for delivering 10,000 tonnes of mineral fertilizer to France by the end of 2026," the ministry said.

According to the United Nations Comtrade Database (UN Comtrade), EU countries imported $233.5 million worth of fertilizer from Uzbekistan in 2025.

Uzkimyoimpeks, a division of chemical group Uzkimyosanoat, is the sole agent for the export-import operations of group companies.
