Tajik, Chinese business reps discuss Tajikistan-China gas pipeline construction

DUSHANBE. Sept 21 (Interfax) - Tajik Energy and Water Resources Minister Daler Juma has met with directors of Trans Asia Gas Pipeline Company Limited, China National Oceanographic Data Center and TTGP to discuss the implementation of a project to build a Tajikistan-China natural gas pipeline, Line D, the Tajik Energy Ministry's press service said in a statement on Saturday.

"The meeting focused on matters relating to the process of implementing the project, titled The Construction of the Tajikistan-China natural gas pipeline, line D," the statement said.

The sides discussed current issues relating to the project, progress in implementing it, ways to solve existing problems and further coordination of activities among the project participants, it said.

The line D pipeline is a part of the Central Asia - China transnational gas transport system. The project involves building a section of the pipeline through Tajikistan and other Central Asian states to transport natural gas to China.

To implement the project's Tajik section, China's Trans Asia Gas Pipeline Company Limited, which is linked to China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), and the Tajik state company Tajiktransgaz set up Trans-Tajik Gas Pipeline Company Limited (TTGP).
