Russia imposes quotas on alloyed steel scrap exports

MOSCOW. Sept 21 (Interfax) - The Russian government is imposing tariff quotas on exports of scrap alloyed steel (TN VED EAEU customs codes 7204 21 and 7204 29) until the end of 2027

The resolution on this has been signed and posted on the official website for legal acts. It goes into effect seven days after its official publication.

The quota for exporting such scrap outside of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) will be 7,000 tonnes to the end of 2026 and 20,000 tonnes in 2027.

The customs duty on exports of alloyed steel scrap within the quotas will be 5% but at least 70 euros per tonne until the end of 2027. The duty on exports beyond the quotas will be 5% but at least 290 euros per tonne until October 31, 2026 and at least 490 euros per tonne from November 1, 2026 to December 31, 2027.
