Russia's Helix opens laboratory complex, launches diagnostic centers franchise in Armenia

ST. PETERSBURG. Sept 18 (Interfax) - The Helix laboratory service (NPF Helix LLC, St. Petersburg) has opened a laboratory complex and is beginning to develop a network of diagnostic centers under a franchise in Armenia, the company's press service said.

Total investments in the project amounted to more than 2.5 billion dram (around 579 million rubles), and more than 200 jobs have been created, of which more than 100 are for medical personnel.

The area of the laboratory complex is 850 square meters. The complex is the ninth in the company's structure and the third in the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

"The complex's key advantage will be the first fully automated track line in Armenia, integrating analyzers into a single system. This solution will ensure high throughput of the laboratory complex - more than 20,000 tests per day, and also guarantees the exclusion of the human factor, accuracy and minimal turnaround time for research," the press service quoted the deputy general director of Helix, Darya Goryakina, as saying.

Under the franchise, at least 30 diagnostic centers will be opened in the country; the first of them will soon begin operating in Yerevan. At the centers, clients will be able to take tests and receive consultations with doctors, as well as undergo ultrasound, ECG and other examinations. In the future, a significant part of the network will be deployed in the regions of Armenia, which will make modern laboratory diagnostics more accessible for the country's residents, including in remote areas.

The Helix laboratory service was founded in 1998. Laboratory complexes are located in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Krasnodar, Novosibirsk, Minsk, Almaty and Yerevan.

According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, the current owners of NPF Helix LLC are Helix Nord-West LLC (35.38%), Smart Medical Solutions LLC (25.2%), Yuri Andreichuk (20.42%), Pavel Yablokov (10%) and Vladimir Kulikov (9%). In turn, Helix Nord-West LLC and Smart Medical Solutions LLC are owned on a parity basis by Andreichuk and Goryakina.
