Kazakhstan ready to increase supplies to Italy by another $307.5 mln

ASTANA. Sept 18 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan estimates the additional potential for supplying its products to the Italian market at $307.5 million, the Kazakh Trade and Integration Ministry's press service said.

"Additional potential for supplies of Kazakh products to the Italian market is about $307.5 million. This mainly concerns metals, petrochemicals, food and chemical products, as well as machinery," Trade and Integration Minister Arman Shakkaliyev said at a meeting with the undersecretary of state at the Italian Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ministry, Maria Tripodi, on Thursday.

The parties discussed the pace of bilateral trade, efforts to expand non-resource exports and prospects for industrial and technological cooperation.

Kazakh-Italian trade totaled $16.9 billion in 2025, the ministry said. Bilateral trade reached $9.79 billion in January-July 2026, including $9 billion in Kazakh exports and $789.6 million in imports from Italy.

The Italian side confirmed its interest in further cooperation and its readiness to share technology and expertise to help diversify Kazakhstan's economy. The two sides paid particular attention to logistics.

"We are ready to help facilitate the exchange of expertise and technology for the further modernization of this sector," Tripodi said.

A forum of the Central Asia + Italy business platform will be held in Astana on September 18, focused on developing trade, economic and investment cooperation and business ties between the two countries' companies.
