Purchase of agricultural machinery in Russia subsidized by 6 bln rubles in 8M 2026, 5,700 units sold - govt

MOSCOW. Sept 17 (Interfax) - Sales of agricultural machinery under the program of subsidizing manufacturers for discounts on its purchase amounted to 5,700 units in January-August 2026; during this period, 6 billion rubles were allocated to the program out of the 10 billion rubles envisaged in the Russian federal budget for this year, the government's press service said following a meeting on developing the agricultural machinery sector.

The meeting was held under the chairmanship of First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov with the participation of representatives of the Industry and Trade Ministry, the Agriculture Ministry, the Economic Development Ministry, the Finance Ministry, and key manufacturers of agricultural machinery and industry associations.

"The participants discussed the current situation in the industry, implementing major investment projects, as well as proposals for stimulating investment activity. Manturov emphasized the need for further active work on developing and mastering new types of machinery, of which Russian analogues had not previously been presented on the market," the press service said.

The government, under conditions of a shrinking market, plans to extend all industry measures to stimulate demand for the next year, as well as to launch new ones, and to increase financing for R&D.

"Special attention will be paid to instruments aimed at supporting the development of new types of agricultural machines and equipment and the modernization of existing models. In particular, it is planned that the levels of R&D subsidization will increase and that a program for finishing components will be launched," the press service said.
