Standards for Russian fuel and energy sector equipment undergoing harmonization in 9 countries, this will help expand exports - industry and trade minister

TYUMEN. Sept 16 (Interfax) - The Institute of Oil and Gas Technological Initiatives (INTI), which is responsible in Russia for developing unified requirements for equipment used in the fuel and energy sector, is currently harmonizing Russian standards with customers from nine countries, Industry and Trade Minister Anton Alikhanov told journalists.

"In order to scale up exports of Russian oil and gas equipment, we are currently carrying out work on the recognition of INTI industry standards in friendly countries. It is worth noting that INTI standards are undergoing harmonization with foreign customers, which will make it possible to ensure the entry of Russian products into the export markets of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, the UAE, Algeria, Kuwait and Angola," Alikhanov said on the sidelines of the TNF 2026 forum.

Alikhanov recalled that as part of cooperation with the UAE, positive technical conclusions from ADNOC have already been obtained for 60 INTI standards for oil and gas equipment and pipe products, eight Russian manufacturers have been pre-qualified in ADNOC according to the agreed standards, and another seven enterprises are undergoing the pre-qualification procedure.

"But on the whole, despite the standardization of INTI, we are ready to supply our equipment to any interested customers from friendly and unfriendly countries," he said.

The share of Russian oil and gas equipment in Russia amounted to 80% in 2025, and this figure expected to increase to 82% in 2026, he said.
