Kazakhstan not thinking of pulling out of OPEC+ deal - dep minister

TYUMEN. Sept 16 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan does not plan to pull out of the OPEC+ deal to regulate output, Kazakh Deputy Energy Minister Kairkhan Tutkyshbaev said.

Kazakhstan maintains communication with the OPEC Secretariat, including on compensation excess production in previous months, Tutkyshbaev told reporters on the sidelines of the Tyumen Industrial and Energy Forum (TNF).

"We participate in all OPEC+ meetings. Leaving the alliance is not currently on our agenda. We are doing all we can to honor our commitments," he said.

"We have good liaison with the OPEC Secretariat," he said, when asked about the country's compensation for over-production while voluntary cutbacks were in place, and whether the corresponding schedules remained in effect.

Tutkyshbayev said Kazakhstan's over-production had stemmed from its obligations to international partners in production-sharing agreements.

Kazakhstan had been exceeding its OPEC+ quota for quite a while. Compensation schedules for over-production were introduced for the country, but were not met. The alliance extended the compensation period until the end of this year, but the corresponding plans - the extent to which the country would need to reduce production below its quota - have not been published since June.

Kazakhstan's OPEC+ quota before compensation is 1.628 million bpd as of September. According to OPEC data, the country produced just over 1.8 million bpd in August.
