Russian Post resumes mail deliveries to North Korea after suspension due to pandemic in 2020

MOSCOW. Sept 15 (Interfax) - JSC Russian Post is resuming deliveries of letters, postcards, parcels and cecograms or postal deliveries for blind and visually impaired recipients to North Korea, the company said in a statement.

Postal deliveries between the two countries were suspended in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, the company said.

Russian Post had already resumed parcel deliveries to North Korea in June 2025. Private individuals and legal entities can now send letters and parcels weighing up to 20 kilograms. Post is delivered by air from Moscow to Vladivostok and transported from there to Pyongyang by a North Korean partner airline, the statement says.
