Uzbekneftegaz to accelerate commissioning of new wells to stabilize gas production

TASHKENT. Sept 15 (Interfax) - JSC Uzbekneftegaz intends to strengthen work on stabilizing gas production and accelerate the commissioning of new wells as part of preparations for the autumn-winter season, the company said.

At a meeting chaired by the head of Uzbekneftegaz, Abdugani Sanginov, production indicators and measures to ensure a stable supply of natural gas to consumers in the autumn-winter period were considered. It was noted that a significant amount of work has been carried out to maintain stable production since the beginning of the year. However, it was emphasized that despite the availability of reserves and financial resources for this, indicators in some areas do not meet expectations.

Sanginov gave instructions to focus attention on work directly at the fields and wells, as well as to increase specialists' responsibility for production results.

At the meeting, tasks were set for developing deep wells, working with the existing well stock, accelerating drilling and commissioning of new wells as part of projects with foreign partners, and organizing commercial gas production from wells in the border zone.

Separate instructions were given to control the supply of small compressor stations, prepare sites in advance and accelerate earthworks at the M-25 field.

The results of reforms at the joint venture Gissarneftegaz (Uzbekneftegaz owns 65%, Switzerland's Gas Project Development Central Asia AG owns 45%) were also considered. It was noted that oil and gas condensate production doubled. At the same time, fulfillment of the production plan was only 61% in January-August. The task was set to raise this indicator to at least 90% by the end of the year.

In addition, instructions were issued concerning the commissioning of new wells in the second half of September, maintaining a stable flow rate of existing wells, full utilization of production capacities and preventing emergency shutdowns.
