Russia bans sulfuric acid exports until end of year to ensure sufficient supplies for mineral fertilizer producers, industry

MOSCOW. Sept 14 (Interfax) - The Russian government has temporarily banned exports of sulfuric acid, in accordance with a resolution signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin on September 12.

This decision is aimed at maintaining a stable supply of the chemical to industrial enterprises and mineral fertilizer producers.

The ban will come into effect within 10 days of the resolution's official publication and will be extended until December 31, 2026 inclusive.

It will be possible to export sulfuric acid where a corresponding decision is approved by Mishustin or the Deputy Prime Minister, or for international transit shipments and intergovernmental agreements.
