Russia, Ethiopia discussing increase in fertilizer supplies

MOSCOW. Sept 14 (Interfax) - Russia intends to increase supplies of complex fertilizers to Ethiopia.

Relevant negotiations with the Ethiopian side are currently underway, Russian Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut said in an interview with the Vesti information service.

Around 0.5 million tonnes of complex fertilizers were exported from Russia to Ethiopia, she said.

"Next, we will discuss how to increase supplies. In principle, of course, the situation there is quite market-driven," she said. "Everything depends on our offer in terms of money and timelines. But on the whole, we have at least begun a fairly constructive dialogue."

"The company PhosAgro is also looking at how to deliver supplies there and how to develop relations. This is an agricultural country, so of course, they need fertilizers," Lut said.
