Putin: Russia-Malaysia trade up by 12.9%

NEW DELHI. Sept 11 (Interfax) - Trade turnover between Russia and Malaysia increased by 12.9% in 2025, it is a good pace, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"Trade turnover between our countries grew by 12.9% over the past year. A good pace," Putin said at a meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

Moscow attaches great importance to contacts with Kuala Lumpur in education, science, technologies, and tourism, he said.

"We have an opportunity during our conversation today to discuss the priority issues of our cooperation on all these tracks," Putin said.

Putin is taking part in the events of the BRICS Summit in New Delhi on September 11-13. He had a separate meeting with Anwar on the sidelines of the summit.
