CIS Economic Council approves plans to develop transport, innovation, humanitarian cooperation

MINSK. Sept 11 (Interfax) - The CIS Economic Council approved a number of documents to develop economic, transport, innovation and humanitarian cooperation among the Commonwealth states at the Council session in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, the CIS Executive Committee's press service said.

An action plan for the implementation of the strategy on ensuring transport security in the territories of the CIS member states in the course of international transport for 2026-2030 was approved.

The Council also approved a draft action plan to harmonize the national air traffic management systems of the CIS member states. The document is expected to "improve the safety, regularity, and cost effectiveness of civil aviation flights as well as the quality of air traffic services."

The Council assigned the status of technological platform to the digital "Business Development Platform" under the interstate program for the innovation cooperation of CIS member states to 2030 under the "Innovation Entrepreneurship Development Platform". "The platform is designed to foster long-term interaction among development institutions, technoparks, universities, and government agencies, providing a link between science, education, and the real sector of the economy," the press service said.

The session also reviewed draft concepts for the development of cooperation among the CIS countries in the production of advanced materials for high-tech industries and an action plan for its implementation. "The documents are aimed at building interstate scientific, technical, and industrial cooperation, transferring technologies and research results into the real sector of the economy, developing the regulatory and technical framework and training personnel," the press service said.
