Azerbaijan's Fabriora Group launches paper and hygiene products factory in Baku for $16 mln

BAKU. Sept 10 (Interfax) - Azerbaijan's Fabriora Group launched an enterprise for producing paper and hygiene products in Baku's Garadagh district on Thursday, according to the website Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, who took part in the enterprise's opening ceremony.

Investments in the project amounted to 27 million manat (approximately $15.9 million at the current exchange rate).

The factory will produce paper and hygiene products from local and imported raw materials, including baby diapers, wipes and cleaning products.

"The enterprise, located on an area of around 11 hectares, will use modern and highly automated German, Italian and Turkish production technologies. The products will be supplied to the domestic market and will also be exported to Georgia, Kazakhstan, Russia, Middle Eastern countries and other states. It is planned that permanent employment for 240 people will be ensured here," the statement on the website said.

Fabriora Group LLC specializes in the production of paper and hygiene products. It was founded by Ibrahim Uygur.

The official exchange rate on September 10 is 1.7 manat/$1.
