Kazakhstan, India agree on projects worth $122 mln

ASTANA. Sept 9 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan and India have signed framework agreements totaling $122 million following a trade and investment business forum in Chennai in India's Tamil Nadu state, the Kazakh Trade Ministry said.

Kazakhstan's SP BKM LLP and India's International Tractors Limited signed a $120 million agreement covering phased assembly and localization of Sonalika/Solis tractors in Kazakhstan, as well as distribution and after-sales service.

SP BKM also signed a framework agreement with Big Bang Boom Solutions Private Limited in defense technology, internal security and dual-use solutions.

More than 110 Kazakh business representatives took part in the forum, including about 65 companies from the machinery, agriculture, food, pharmaceuticals, construction, oil and gas, IT and logistics sectors.

Kazakh-Indian trade reached $315.4 million in January-June 2026. Kazakhstan has identified about 95 product categories with export potential to India worth some $313 million.

The two sides also identified agriculture, agricultural processing, critical minerals, industrial cooperation, pharmaceuticals, digitalization, AI, IT and energy as promising areas for partnership.

SP BKM LLP is a Kazakh defense industry enterprise registered in Astana in 2023, focused on the production of military combat vehicles under the BESQARU brand.
