Trade turnover of agricultural products between Russia, Mongolia up 27% in 7M 2026 - Agroexport
MOSCOW. Sept 9 (Interfax) - The trade turnover of agricultural products between Russia and Mongolia increased 27% year-on-year in 7M 2026, the head of the Agroexport federal center Ilya Ilyushin said at the opening of a business mission of Russian exporters in Ulaanbaatar on Wednesday.

During this period, Russian agricultural exports increased 30% to $167 million. According to Agroexport, deliveries in physical terms increased 2.3-fold to more than 290,000 tonnes. The largest export revenue came from wheat (18% share), flour confectionery products (10%), pork and edible offal of pigs (8%), chocolate confectionery products (6%) and certain types of fat-and-oil products (6%).
"Despite the active development of bilateral trade, we are ready to continue increasing it," Ilyushin said. "To do this, it is necessary to build cooperation between Russian and Mongolian business more intensively. I am confident that the mission will help them find new reliable partners," he said.
Russia is ready to offer Mongolia a wider range of finished, meat, dairy, beet-sugar products, as well as seeds, plant protection products and vaccines, he said. In addition, great opportunities are opening up in the field of agricultural education.
"In Mongolia, agriculture and the food industry are among the priority areas of development and at the same time have significant potential for expanding bilateral trade and economic cooperation. Of particular importance to us are ensuring food security and supply stability, and developing the processing industry," the acting president and chairman of the board of the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Baatarjav Lkhagvajav, was quoted as saying.
As reported, the interim trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Mongolia entered into force on July 22, 2026. It established tariff preferences for Russian exporters for 94 product items, mainly belonging to groups 01-24 of the EAEU HS Code.
The business mission includes 40 Russian companies from the grain, fat-and-oil, and meat and dairy sectors, as well as producers of finished products, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, fish and seafood, animal feed and fertilizers.
