Goods trade between Russia, Vietnam growing, $15 billion targeted by 2030 - Russian deputy PM

MOSCOW. Sept 8 (Interfax) - Russia and Vietnam plan to increase bilateral goods trade to $15 billion by 2030, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said.

"In terms of the economy, there are big prospects. The economy and economic ties continue to be reinforced and developed. You know, Russia is implementing a large nuclear project, building nuclear generation capacities in Vietnam. Over the past year, goods trade between our countries amounted to over $6 billion," Chernyshenko told journalists on Tuesday following a meeting between Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and Vietnamese President To Lam.

He said that the trade had increased by around 14% in the first half of 2026. "We are making solid headway towards $15 billion of goods trade by 2030, as instructed by our leaders. We will continue our all-encompassing partnership," Mishustin said.
