Khabarovsk Territory expects to maintain gold production in 2026 at last year's level

KHABAROVSK. Sept 7 (Interfax) - Khabarovsk Territory plans to maintain gold production at the level of the previous year in 2026, and expects to increase copper and tin production and see silver production fall.

"The target figures for production are gold - 34.5 tonnes [+0.3% relative to 2025], silver - 56 tonnes [-4%], platinum - 75 kg [compared to zero in 2025], tin - 3,800 tonnes [+ 8.5%] and copper - 290,400 tonnes [+38%]," the region's governor, Dmitry Demeshin, said in an interview with Interfax.

Subsoil users' investments in geological exploration in 2026 are estimated at 10 billion rubles, Demeshin said. In particular, exploration work continues on one of the region's large projects - the development of the Milkan iron ore deposit.

"Work began back in 2024 - equipment, fuel and machinery were brought in at that time. Geological exploration is currently underway. It will be completed this year. After the reserves are put on the balance sheet, a feasibility study and other required documents will be drawn up. If everything goes according to plan, we expect commissioning in 2032," he said.

As reported, gold production in the region in 2025 amounted to 34.4 tonnes, silver production stood at 58.4 tonnes, tin production totaled 3,500 tonnes and copper production was 210,000 tonnes.
