Mongolia to boost trade with Kyrgyzstan 5.3-fold to $100 mln

ULAANBAATAR. Sept. 1 (Interfax) - Mongolia intends to boost bilateral trade with Kyrgyzstan 5.3-fold to $100 million, the presidential administration said on its website.

Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh met with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov ahead of the expanded meeting of the heads of state of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Council of Heads of State in Bishkek. They discussed cooperation in politics, economics and trade.

"The parties discussed increasing trade to $100 million, as well as expanding and developing relations in all sectors, including industry, transport, logistics, direct flights, culture and humanitarian aid," the administration said.

Mongolia's General Customs Administration said bilateral trade with Kyrgyzstan reached $19 million in 2025. Livestock and food products are the key goods.
