Russia's new sub-commission discusses protecting logistics and trade facilities, drafts 167 critical sites

MOSCOW. Aug 27 (Interfax) - Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov chaired a meeting of the sub-commission formed this week to ensure the smooth functioning of certain economic sectors.

According to the government press service, participants discussed the protection of logistics and trade facilities during the first meeting.

"The Industry and Trade Ministry and business representatives have prepared a list of 167 sites to include in the list of critical facilities," according to the statement.

The meeting was attended by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, Minister of Transport Andrei Nikitin, Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov, representatives of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, members of the Military-Industrial Commission Board, regional heads, representatives of federal executive bodies, as well as business executives and owners.

"The sub-commission should examine the resilience of industries through the lens of existing risks and damage incurred. Targeted and systemic measures to mitigate threats will be proposed," Manturov said in the press release.

The sub-commission's key focus areas include monitoring the condition of key enterprises, developing new engineering and regulatory solutions for the security and rapid restoration of facilities, ensuring the redundancy of critical resources, diversifying logistics, and securing suppliers for strategic products.
