Wildberries to launch network of goods collection points with partners
MOSCOW. Aug 24 (Interfax) - Wildberries will launch a network of partner goods collection and processing points for sellers working on the online marketplace, and is currently accepting applications to open these points, united company Wildberries & Russ said in a press release.
The collection and processing points will accept goods shipments according to two systems: fulfillment by Wildberries (FBW), when the seller transports foods to the Wildberries warehouse or sorting center, and fulfillment by seller (FBS), where the goods are stored at the seller's warehouse. All goods or boxes have their bar codes scanned and are then sent to logistics sites elsewhere. The partner collection and processing points will also be able to receive returns for sellers, but not issue orders from clients.
In order to open a collection and processing point, potential partners must have premises of an area no less than 100 square meters with easy access for vehicles, parking spaces, a minimum of five surveillance cameras, two shelves, a notebook, computer or tablet, a scanner and a table for processing orders.
Wildberries will provide a payment for every box accepted at the point, as with ordinary pick-up points. If returns are in the processing center for more than three days, Wildberries will also pay extra to the owner of the point for temporarily storing the shipments.
At the first stage, the project will be launched in Russian cities with a population above 600,000. Its expansion beyond these locations will be determined by the level of interest among potential partners.
Wildberries & Russ also said on Friday that Wildberries and insurance company Rosgosstrakh had launched a voluntary insurance program to insure goods at partner fulfillment centers (PFCs) from the risks of drone attacks.
This will insure goods at fulfillment centers participating in the Wildberries partner program from the risks of total destruction in a terrorist act or act of sabotage, including when buildings are targeted by drones or hit by falling drones or drone wreckage.
"The insurance is entirely optional. Sellers can independently add any product from their personal Wildberries account or remove it at their own discretion at any time. The daily tariff is 0.01% of the price of the goods which are actually located at PFCs," the press release reads.
In early August, Wildberries launched a program to open PFCs for collecting and storing goods from sellers. The first PFCs of this type are already operating in Moscow and the Moscow region, but their amount has not been disclosed.
