Putin: Russia to resolve grain export problems, supply world market, delivery potential 60 mln tonnes

MOSCOW. Aug 24 (Interfax) - Russia will resolve the grain export problems and provide the world market, potentially with 60 million tonnes, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"As for the global problems [caused by supply disruptions resulting from damage to Ukraine's export infrastructure], it is unlikely anything will change, because, first of all, we have a big export potential. Literally yesterday, our agriculture minister reported to me: 60 million tonnes," Putin said in an interview with Pavel Zarubin.

That is a serious potential, the president said.

"Yes, we do have issues with taking out our goods. But we will resolve those issues, and that means there will be no shortages on the world market," Putin said.

Currently, Russia's grain harvest is close to 100 million tonnes, including 75 milion tonnes of milled wheat, an increase of 9 million tonnes on the previous year, Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut said earlier.

In July 2025-June 2026, Russia exported 46.5 million tonnes of wheat, thus retaining leadership on the world market for this grain, according to data from the Agroexport federal center.
