Russian Prime Minister signs order on use of "golden share" in relation to Sheremetyevo
MOSCOW. Aug 21 (Interfax) - The government has decided to use the special right ("golden share") for the participation of the Russian state in the management of JSC Sheremetyevo International Airport.
The corresponding order was prepared in execution of the presidential decree issued in early August, which excluded Sheremetyevo from the list of strategic enterprises and permitted its privatization. Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed the document on August 18.
A share package of 66.06% in Sheremetyevo International Airport is controlled by Sheremetyevo Holding LLC, the sole owner of which is TPS Avia Holding LTD ICLLC - a resident of the special administrative region located on the territory of Oktyabrsky Island in the Kaliningrad region. The founders of the company are not disclosed. Before redomiciliation, which took place at the end of 2022, the company was registered in Cyprus under the name TPS Avia Holding. A 65.22% stake in TPS Avia Holding was held by a trust in the interests of the families of Alexander Ponomarenko and Alexander Skorobogatko, and 34.78% was held by Arkady Rotenberg. The Federal Property Management Agency owned 30.46% of Sheremetyevo International Airport, 2.43% was owned by Aeroflot, and 1.05% was owned by the airport's management.
As well as the use of the "golden share", the presidential decree dated August 6 obligates the government to stipulate conditions for the disposal of its shares: that the enterprise retain its main form of activity and modernize capacities, as well as a ban on the sale of the airport to foreign entities or legal entities directly or indirectly controlled by them.
