Fuel supply situation in Kyrgyzstan remains tense - Association of Oil Traders
BISHKEK. Aug 19 (Interfax) - The tense situation with the supply of fuel and lubricants to Kyrgyzstan persists, the Kyrgyz Association of Oil Traders said.
"In Kyrgyzstan's fuel and lubricants market, a tense situation remains. Stocks of fuel purchased earlier at lower prices are running out, and new batches have to be purchased at significantly higher prices," the association said.
According to the association's information, some companies have concluded contracts since the beginning of August for the supply of diesel fuel at $1,550-$1,600 per tonne and for the supply of AI-92 gasoline at $1,400-$1,450 per tonne. Fuel under these contracts has already begun to arrive in the country.
"The issue of changing the parameters of subsidization and increasing the level of state support has been discussed for more than two weeks, but the final parameters of the updated mechanism have not yet been determined," the association said.
If high purchase prices persist, an adjustment of the parameters of state support or the permissible level of retail prices may be required, the association said.
