Russian govt approves list of 24 most important IT projects costing 14.4 bln rubles
MOSCOW. Aug 11 (Interfax) - The Russian government has approved a list of "particularly important projects" aimed at substituting imported software for the development of the digital economy, the Russian Digital Development Ministry said in a statement.
The program for selecting and providing support to such projects was launched in 2022. Customers of software import substitution projects which were selected as "particularly important" will be able to claim 50% of the price as a government grant.
The Digital Development Ministry said that the newly approved list contained 24 projects at an overall cost of 14.4 billion rubles, to be implemented using companies' own funds. For the transport sphere, 12 projects costing 11.66 billion rubles have been approved, as well as eight industry and trade projects costing 2.38 billion rubles, three communications and media projects costing 281.2 million rubles and one project in the agroindustrial and fisheries industry at a cost of 54.1 million rubles.
The ministry also said that projects had been approved for developing control systems for technological processes, design documentation and procurement in industry, as well as an end-to-end industrial analytics platform. Projects selected in the transport industry are aimed at developing solutions for aviation, airports, railway infrastructure and logistics, including ERP systems, digital management platforms and artificial intelligence technology.
In communications and media, the projects selected concern the development of Russian solutions for operating network equipment, infrastructure inventorying and authentication services. In terms of the agroindustrial sector, the Digital Poultry Farm project aims to use MES systems to automate production processes.
Among the anchor customers of the projects are PJSC Severstal , PJSC Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works , PJSC Alrosa, JSC NZPP Vostok, PJSC Aeroflot , JSC Sheremetyevo International Airport, JSC Russian Railways, Avtodor Group LLC, Global Ports Managing Company LLC, JSC ER-Telecom Holding and Penzamolinvest LLC.
The ministry said that 38 applications had been made. Projects participating in the selection process were from among the priority import substitution fields chosen this year by Industrial Competence Centers. "All of the initiatives passed an assessment by the Russian Information Technology Development Fund and were approved by relevant industry committees," the statement reads.
"Particularly important projects are aimed at developing Russian software, digitalizing key sectors of the economy and lowering dependency on foreign technological solutions," the ministry said.
