Kazakhstan's GDP grows 4.1% in 7M - govt

ASTANA. Aug 11 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan's GDP grew 4.1% year-on-year in January-July 2026, the government press service said.

"Economic growth remains resilient despite external challenges. Preliminary data shows GDP growth held at 4.1% in January-July, matching the first-half figure," it said.

Growth was driven by the non-resource sector, which expanded 5.4% over the seven-month period.

Manufacturing posted 9% growth, led by machinery (22%), food production (13.9%), chemicals (26.9%), pharmaceuticals (38.5%), construction materials (9.4%) and metal products (35%).

Significant growth was also recorded in construction (15.3%), transport and warehousing (7.4%), trade (5.9%), agriculture (5%) and communications (4.3%).

The economy grew 4.1% in the first half of 2026, 3.7% in January-May, 3.6% in January-April and 3% in the first quarter.

GDP rose 6.5% in 2025. The prime minister has asked the government to keep growth above 5% this year.
