Belarus annual inflation accelerates to 4.4% in July

MINSK. Aug 10 (Interfax) - Consumer prices in Belarus grew 0.3% in July after rising 0.3% in June also, 0.1% in May and 0.8% in April 2026, national statistical committee Belstat said.

Inflation was 3.2% in January-July.

Annual inflation accelerated to 4.4% in July from 4.3% in June.

Core or underlying inflation was 2.9% in January-July and 0.6% in July alone.

Food prices rose 1.5% in January-July, including a drop of 0.3% in July. Non-food prices rose 2.3% and 0.8%, respectively, and services grew 7.3% and 0.6%.

Belarus continues to regulate prices for almost all goods in the consumer basket, as well as for basic services.

Inflation in Belarus rose to 6.8% in 2026 from 5.2% in 2024 and 5.8% in 2023. The government targets inflation this year at 7% or less while the National Bank of Belarus is expecting less than 7%.
