Azerbaijani banks increases assets 7%, net profit 24% in H1 2026
BAKU. Aug 10 (Interfax) - The total assets of Azerbaijan's banking system are estimated at 60.94 billion manat as of June 30, 2026, 6.8% more than the figure at the end of 2025, according to materials from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.
Banks' funds in correspondent accounts with the Central Bank increased 12.4% in H1 2026 to 5.76 billion manat.
Bank liabilities increased 7.1% since the beginning of the year to 53.3 billion manat. Within the structure of liabilities, the deposit portfolio is estimated at 39.74 billion manat (+4%), including household deposits of 17.43 billion manat (+6.8%).
The bank loan portfolio reached 31.82 billion manat at the end of June, up 5.9% from the end of 2025.
The total capitalization of banks in Azerbaijan is 7.65 billion manat (+4.1%).
According to the regulator, the country's banks received net profit in the amount of 716.3 million manat in January-June 2026, up 24.2% more than in H1 2025. Income tax amounted to 171.1 million manat (+27.6%).
As of June 30, 2026, 22 banks held licenses to operate in Azerbaijan, including nine banks with foreign capital. There were also nine banks at the end of 2025.
