Tashkent Stock Exchange sees trading volume drop 42.2% in H1
TASHKENT. Aug 4 (Interfax) - The overall trading volume on Uzbekistan's Tashkent Republican Stock Exchange dropped 42.2% year-on-year to UZS 6.94 trillion in H1 2026 from UZS 12 trillion in H1 2025, the exchange reported.
Transactions concluded on the exchange's trading platforms jumped 2.3-fold year-on-year to around 490,400 in the reporting period, with 280 issuers participating in trading and 335 instruments traded over 120 trading days.
The bulk of the volume came from exchange trading, excluding the unlisted market, with 87 issuers concluding 419,970 transactions totaling UZS 4.33 trillion. The number of transactions surged 130.87% year-on-year in H1 2026, though the trading volume dropped 25.33% year-on-year.
The UCI, the index that reflects the dynamics of the Uzbek stock market and represents key companies traded on the local stock exchange, jumped 46.24% year-on-year to 1,088.07 points in H1 2026 from 744.02 points in H1 2025.
There were 154 instruments from 95 issuers listed as at the end of June, with overall market capitalization of the issuers having surged 50.4% to UZS 428.06 trillion ($35.49 billion) since the beginning of 2026.
The official exchange rate as on August 4, 2026, is UZS 11,989/$1.
