Uzbekistan intends to boost strategic partnership with India - ministry

TASHKENT. Aug 3 (Interfax) - The president of India has received a delegation from Uzbekistan, Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov, who leads the delegation, said on Monday.

"We are glad to be received by Indian President Droupadi Murmu in New Delhi today," Saidov said on Telegram.

The meeting opened with him conveying warmest greetings and best wishes from Uzbek President Shavkat Mirzioyev, the minister said.

"We exchanged views on matters relating to more active political dialogue, broader trade, economic and investment cooperation and stronger cultural and humanitarian ties," Saidov said.

The two sides also discussed pressing regional and international issues and the prospects of coordinating within international organizations, he said.

"Having expressed our sincere gratitude to the president for the warm reception, we reaffirmed the readiness of the two countries' foreign ministries to continue with the consistent joint work of further strengthening the Uzbek-Indian strategic partnership," Saidov said.
