Russia becomes second biggest supplier of coriander to global market in 2025 - Agroexport

MOSCOW. July 28 (Interfax) - Russia exported approximately 48,000 tonnes of coriander seeds, including ground coriander worth $27 million in 2025, making it the second biggest supplier of this spice to the global market, the Agroexport federal center told Interfax, citing expert estimates.

India is traditionally the biggest producer of spices, and exported approximately 58,000 tonnes of coriander in 2025 according to international statistics agencies. Italy ranked third with over 21,000 tonnes exported.

Agroexport reported that Malaysia purchased most of India's coriander exports last year, or almost 14,000 tonnes. The product was also shipped to the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Nepal and other countries.

In 2025, Russia exported over 17,000 tonnes of coriander seeds to Indonesia, around 10,000 tonnes to India, over 3,000 tonnes to Uzbekistan, over 3,000 tonnes to Sri Lanka and approximately 3,000 tonnes to the UAE, as well as other countries.

Among all Russian regions, Crimea is the largest coriander producer. As reported by Russian agricultural watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor with reference to Crimea's Ministry of Agriculture, Crimean farmers harvested over 25,000 tonnes of coriander in 2025 and have sown over 60,000 hectares for the 2026 harvest. Coriander is sown over a greater area in Crimea than in any other region of Russia.
