Tajikistan, Bank of New York Mellon discuss expanding banking cooperation

DUSHANBE. July 28 (Interfax) - Tajik Ambassador to the United States Zavqi Zavqizoda has held an online meeting with Bank of New York Mellon (BNY) Managing Director for Eastern Europe and Eurasia Sergei Kotov, the Tajik embassy in Washington said in a statement.

National Bank of Tajikistan Deputy Governor Ziyoratsho Gulomzoda and U.S.-Tajikistan Business Council Chairperson Elena Son also attended the meeting.

The sides discussed prospects for expanding financial and banking cooperation, including the possibility of restoring direct corresponding relations between Bank of New York Mellon, the National Bank of Tajikistan and Tajik commercial banks.

They also discussed cooperation in managing international reserves and conducting transactions with fixed-income securities.
