Wildberries, Ozon comply with warnings from Russia's anti-monopoly watchdog on interacting with consumers, sellers

MOSCOW. July 28 (Interfax) - The Wildberries and Ozon marketplaces have submitted reports to Russia's Federal Anti-monopoly Service (FAS) on complying with the watchdog's warnings on interacting with sellers and buyers, FAS' press service said.

The watchdog's press service reported that Wildberries and Ozon have synchronized payment deadlines for sellers of goods and set deadlines for crediting funds to seller accounts at no more than 30 calendar days from the date of sale.

Ozon will change the product card designation as of July 31. Namely, instead of "Original", the marketplace will display "Brand Verified". FAS had previously ruled that the "Original" designation was misleading, as it did not indicate that other products were not genuine.

The marketplaces have also delinked logistics rates from product prices. "For sellers, this means transparent and predictable delivery costs that are independent of product pricing. For consumers, it means no additional burden on the final product price," FAS noted.

FAS has deemed the actions of Wildberries and Ozon in the current situation to be in compliance with antitrust laws.

FAS also said that the matter of limiting marketplace commissions is currently under consideration as part of amendments to the law on the platform economy.
