GDP growth in Belarus quickens to 1.5% in H1
MINSK. July 17 (Interfax) - GDP in Belarus rose 1.5% year-on-year at constant prices to 149.6 billion Belarusian rubles in January-June 2026, the country's National Statistics Committee (Belstat) said.
The GDP deflator was 113.3%.
GDP rose 0.9% year-on-year in January-May and 0.2% in January-April after falling 0.4% in January-March 2026.
The Belarusian government is targeting GDP growth of at least 2.8% in 2026.
The International Monetary Fund is forecasting 2026 GDP growth of 1.2%, the World Bank and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development 1.1% and Eurasian Development Bank 1.3%.
GDP grew 1.3% in 2025, 4% in 2024 and 3.9% in 2023 after falling 4.7% in 2022.
