Kyrgyzstan's GDP grows 11.9% in H1 2026
BISHKEK. July 17 (Interfax) - According to preliminary estimates, Kyrgyzstan's GDP amounted to 960 billion som ($10.9 billion) in January-June 2026, up 11.9% year-on-year, the Kyrgyz government's press service said, citing Kyrgyz Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev.
The prime minister summarized the results of the country's socio-economic development for the first half of the year during a staff meeting on Friday.
"Kyrgyzstan ranks first among the EAEU [Eurasian Economic Union] member states in terms of GDP growth rates. The growth is ensured by the contribution of all sectors of the economy. The construction sector grew 69.6%, the services sector 6%, and agriculture [grew] 4.3%. In industry, growth amounted to 12.8%, which indicates a very positive dynamics of economic development," Kasymaliev said.
High growth rates of investment in fixed capital have also been observed since the beginning of the year, he said. It amounted to 204.4 billion som ($2.3 billion) in H1 2026, up 1.6-fold compared to a year earlier.
As reported, Kyrgyzstan's GDP grew 11.1% in 2025. The World Bank and the International Monetary Fund forecast the country's economic growth in 2026 at 6.1%, the Asian Development Bank at 8.9%, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development at 8.7%.
