Russian Federation Council ratifies agreement with Belarus on cooperation in circulation of precious metals and stones
MOSCOW. July 17 (Interfax) - The Russian Federation Council ratified the intergovernmental agreement with Belarus on cooperation in activities with precious metals, precious stones and products made from them at a meeting on Friday.
The agreement was signed in Moscow on December 19, 2025 and ratified by Belarus in February.
The document provides for the integration of Russia's GIIA DMDK system for marking jewelry and the Belarusian Electronic Sign state information system, mutual recognition of state assayer's marks and identification means, and the establishment of uniform technical requirements for hallmarks, marking and coating of products.
As reported by Russian Finance Deputy Minister Alexei Moiseyev, after the ratification of the agreement, all precious metals and stones and products made from them produced in Russia or Belarus will be able to be freely traded in both countries without additional control or marking.
