VK sells RuStore to Pankrushev, CEO of its developer company
MOSCOW. July 16 (Interfax) - Internet holding VK is selling 100% of the RuStore application store to the CEO of its developer company, Dmitry Pankrushev, VK said in a statement.
The sum of the deal was not disclosed.
VK said that the RuStore team would continue actively integrating product solutions, flexibly developing functionality and guaranteeing the reliable functioning of the application store for users, developers and partners.
Russian application store RuStore was launched in May 2022. It was created by VK alongside Russia's largest IT companies, with assistance from the Digital Development Ministry. In July 2024, VK consolidated 100% of Many Applications LLC, which took part in the development of RuStore. According to data from SPARK-Interfax, Dmitry Pankrushev was the CEO of this company up until August 2024.
RuStore currently has over 110,000 applications and games and 68 million users each month.
Earlier this week, the EU added VK and national messenger Max to its sanctions lists. At the end of June, Apple deleted VK from the App Store.
