Russia's largest alcohol producer could acquire JSC Bashspirt - media

MOSCOW. July 10 (Interfax) - Russia's largest alcohol producer, Rosspirtprom, is considering acquiring JSC Bashspirt, which is owned by the Bashkortostan government, Kommersant reported, citing sources.

The press said that Bashspirt's entire business is valued at four to five billion rubles. Rosspirtprom representatives visited Bashspirt's distilleries just last week.

Rosspirtprom and Bashspirt declined to comment. Bashkortostan's Ministry of Land and Property Management, Natalya Polyanskaya, stated that they had not received any requests to purchase Bashspirt. In November 2025, regional governor Radiy Khabirov, responding to a question about the possible sale of Bashspirt, said, "I do not see the need."

Established in 2000, JSC Bashspirt unites five distilleries, having generated revenue of 11.57 billion rubles, with a net profit of 266.5 million rubles in 2025.

Rosspirtprom was established in 2009 on the base of the federal state unitary enterprise of the same name, and it comprises eight distilleries.

The company previously acquired a stake in the Tula 1911 distillery and bought out Tatspirtprom, which was owned by the government of Tatarstan. In March, RBC newspaper reported that the company was also negotiating the purchase of stakes in three distilleries: Ladoga, Saransky Distillery, and the wine and brandy [cognac] house Alliance-1892.
