Certification of Russia's MC-21 airliner planned for June 2027 - chief designer
MOSCOW. June 24 (Interfax) - Certification of the MC-21 medium-haul passenger airliner is planned for June 2027, Vitaly Naryshkin, chief designer of MC-21 at the Yakovlev Corporation, said.
"We hope to receive a certificate in June 2027," Naryshkin said.
Russian President Vladimir Putin is examining commercial airliners - Ilyushin Il-114-300, SJ-100 and MC-21 - on the territory of the Gromov Flight Research Institute on Wednesday.
Putin was briefed about the flight tests of the MC-21. Two planes are undergoing tests, they have made 200 flights, including 101 certification flights.
The planes are expected to make in total 232 certification flights, the flight range with maximal commercial load exceeds 3,800 kilometers.
