Volume of parallel imports to Russia totals $8.7 bln in Jan-May - Industry and Trade Ministry

MOSCOW. June 24 (Interfax) - The volume of parallel imports into Russia from January to May 2026 totaled $8.7 billion, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Roman Chekushov told reporters on the sidelines of the Russian Retail Week forum.

"Currently, parallel import volumes are generally stable from month to month. Based on the results of the first five months, we see that parallel imports amounted to $8.7 billion. On average, this is about $1.7 billion per month. We saw slightly more at $2.3 billion in May, though this is a purely seasonal phenomenon, which repeats itself year after year, with parallel imports increasing in the summer," Chekushov said.

"However, I would like to note that volumes have generally stabilized. We have no targets for parallel import volumes. We are not seeking either to decrease or increase them," Chekushov said.

As reported, the average monthly volume of parallel imports into Russia totaled $1.9 billion in 2025. The total volume of goods imported into Russia through this mechanism totaled $23.1 billion at the end of last year.
