Main tasks are still to keep Russian market supplied with fuel, timely deliveries, price monitoring and control - Novak

MOSCOW. June 19 (Interfax) - Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak chaired the latest meeting of the petroleum products headquarters to discuss ensuring a balance between fuel supply and demand on the domestic market during the summer, the government press service said.

Participants assessed existing industry support measures and identified further action to saturate the domestic market with fuel and keep it functioning smoothly.

It was noted that the Energy Ministry constantly monitors the situation with motor fuel supplies to the domestic market. All decisions are aimed at maintaining stable supply of petroleum products to consumers and avoiding local market imbalances.

"Novak said the main tasks at present were still dependable fuel supplies to the domestic market, timely deliveries, as well as continuous price monitoring and control to make petroleum products affordable for consumers. The deputy prime minister asked the relevant agencies for a detailed analysis of the petroleum product pricing situation," the press office said.
