ASEAN energy ministers agree on 2030 work plan
KAZAN. June 18 (Interfax) - ASEAN energy ministers have agreed on a work plan until 2030, Russian Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilev told journalists on the sidelines of the Russia-ASEAN forum in Kazan.
"There is a comprehensive Russia-ASEAN plan for 2026-2030, and as part of it, on June 13, ASEAN energy ministers agreed on a work plan until 2030. This is a detailed plan that includes coal, gas, oil, nuclear energy, and electricity. In addition, we agreed that the ASEAN Center for Energy will train personnel," he said.
All ASEAN countries are interested in supplies of Russian energy resources, Tsivilev said.
As part of the forum, a Russia-ASEAN energy agreement was previously signed, which envisions increasing cooperation "in order to ensure security and diversification of energy supplies, including through expanding trade, investment and long-term commercial partnerships in oil, gas, LNG and electricity, in accordance with market principles and national legislation."
