Canada imposes sanctions against number of individuals, entities, more than 100 vessels linked to Russia

WASHINGTON. June 16 (Interfax) - Canada has added seven individuals, 34 legal entities, and 120 vessels and tankers to its anti-Russian sanctions list, the Canadian government's website reported on Tuesday.

The sanctions targeted Rosatom - Energy Projects and its CEO, Andrei Rozhdestvin, as well as Yuri Vaganov, commander of Russia's unmanned aerial systems forces.

Additionally, Absolut Bank and Zemsky Bank were sanctioned.

The vessels sanctioned included LNG tankers, oil tankers, and other cargo vessels.

As previously reported, six Russian trading platforms had been added to the sanctions list: Moscow Exchange, Saint Petersburg Exchange, Eastern Exchange, Saint Petersburg Exchange (SPIMEX), National Commodity Exchange, and Saint Petersburg Currency Exchange.

The Moscow Exchange has been on the U.S. sanctions list since mid-2024, and the Saint Petersburg Exchange since the end of 2023.
