Belarus-Russia trade grows by more than 1.8-fold over past 5 years - Belarusian FM

MINSK. June 15 (Interfax) - Trade between Belarus and Russia has increased by more than 1.8-fold to $55 billion over the past five years, Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov said.

"The results of 2025 and data for the first months of this year show that, in spite of the unrelenting external pressure, trade and economic cooperation between Belarus and Russia continues to actively expand, aiming for new historic records. Bilateral trade between our countries has grown by more than 1.8 times to $55 billion over the past five years, and exports from the Republic of Belarus to the Russian market have doubled," the Belarusian Foreign Ministry's press service quoted Ryzhenkov as saying after a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Minsk on Monday.

"We have reached such impressive results thanks to joint efforts to deepen integration within the Union States, implement large-scale import substitution programs and focus on achieving technological sovereignty. The intensification of direct ties between Belarusian and Russian companies has also become the driver behind mutual trade growth and the creation of new logistics chains," he said.

Ryzhenkov thanked Russian counterparts "for understanding the importance of the tasks of promoting exports facing Belarus and for their all-round assistance in putting them into practice with all countries of the world."
