Uzbekistan, DFC discuss joint investment platform

TASHKENT. June 10 (Interfax) - Uzbekistan and the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) plan to create a joint investment platform, the Uzbek Investment, Industry and Trade Ministry said.

Deputy Investment, Industry and Trade Minister of Akram Aliyev and Jonathan Taylor, Head of the Legal Department for Private Equity and Investment Funds at the DFC, discussed the issue at a meeting.

"The parties discussed prospects for the further advancement of investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States, as well as strengthening the strategic partnership with the DFC and promoting new investment initiatives. Special attention was paid to the creation of a joint investment platform. The meeting looked at approaches to identifying priority projects within this initiative and means of financing them," the ministry said.

The parties exchanged views on the implementation of promising investment projects and the further expansion of investment cooperation.

"An agreement was reached to continue joint efforts to develop bilateral investment partnerships and promote new projects," the ministry said.
