MOSCOW. June 8 (Interfax) - The United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) is rhythmically working on fulfilling state defense contracts, a number of important events are planned in 2026, USC President Andrei Puchkov said.
"We are rhythmically working on state defense contracts: four submarines and the first Ivan Papanin combat icebreaker were provided to the Navy last year," Puchkov said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"In 2026, we are also planning a number of important events with state defense contracts," he said.
Shipyards are also being actively modernized, he said. "This year we are starting the construction of Severnaya Verf, it's our flagship project, the plant will virtually be fully rebuilt, it is gaining totally new characteristics. We are working on the Far Eastern project," Puchkov said.
"No doubt, we are actively working in the sphere of import substitution of ship equipment parts, and, of course, we are working on digitalizing our industry," he said.
