Freedom Holding weighs investments in Mongolia's banking sector

ALMATY. June 4 (Interfax) - Freedom Holding Corp. is exploring investments in Mongolia's banking and financial sector, the Mongolian government said after Prime Minister Nyam-Osor Uchral met with founder and CEO Timur Turlov.

Uchral outlined Mongolia's investment potential in finance and banking and highlighted legal reforms underway to attract foreign banks and financial institutions, according to a government statement.

Turlov "expressed interest in investing in Mongolia" and in exploring opportunities in advanced technology, electronics, communications, innovation, and banking and finance, the statement said.

The two agreed to develop cooperation in these areas.

Freedom Holding operates in brokerage, banking, insurance, telecommunications and e-commerce across 22 countries. Its shares trade on Nasdaq. Turlov held 69.31% of the company as of early 2026.
