EU should influence third countries doing business with Russia - Kallas
BRUSSELS. May 28 (Interfax) - The European Union should use its influence against countries that continue economic cooperation with Russia, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas said.
"Ministers also discussed how to increase the pressure on Russia globally. Too many countries continue to do business with Moscow while simultaneously enjoying privileged access to European markets and investments," she said following the informal EU Foreign Affairs Council (Gymnich) meeting on Thursday.
Europe should use its influence in the areas of trade, investment, market access, and partnerships more effectively, she said.
She mentioned that the EU is preparing a 21st package of anti-Russian sanctions.
"We can't be mediators, we can't be neutral treating them equally because we have been clearly on Ukraine side," she also said.
