Russia increases turkey exports to Africa 2.4-fold in 2025 to 14,500 tonnes - Agroexport

MOSCOW. May 19 (Interfax) - Russia exported 14,500 tonnes of turkey to African countries in 2025, up 2.4-fold compared to the figure for the previous year (6,100 tonnes), according to a presentation by the Agroexport federal center at the summit Russia's Agrarian Policy: Product Safety and Quality in Moscow on Tuesday.

The value of supplies grew 3.4-fold, to $31.6 million from $9.3 million, respectively.

The products were supplied to four countries - Benin ($20.4 million), Democratic Republic of Congo ($6.6 million), Gabon ($2.1 million) and Guinea ($1.3 million).

According to the presentation, supplies to Middle Eastern countries increased 1.9-fold to 5,200 tonnes, with their value growing 2.1-fold to $24.3 million. Neighboring countries increased purchases 3.2-fold to 6,300 tonnes, spending $14.1 million on this (up 2.7-fold).

At the same time, China's purchases fell from 16,200 tonnes in 2024 to 11,800 tonnes in 2025. Their value decreased from $47.8 million to $30.9 million.

Overall, Russia exported 38,700 tonnes of turkey in 2025, up 41.2% compared to the figure for the previous year (27,400 tonnes). Export revenue increased 39% to $105.1 million, from $75.6 million in 2024.

Turkey production in Russia increased to 453,000 tonnes in 2025 from 438,000 tonnes in 2024.
